Hi, I'm Will.

I design and build websites for small businesses, from a desk by the sea in Devon. This page is the bit where you get to know me, so you know exactly who you'd be working with.

Right now in Teignmouth…

Hello! This is me.

The short version, in my own words.

No corporate “we”, no team photo of people I've never met. It's just me, and this is how I'd introduce myself if we were sat across a table.

Hello,

I live and work in Teignmouth, a little seaside town on the South Devon coast, and I build websites for small businesses all over the UK.

Over the last few years I've built websites for all sorts of businesses, from a local jeweller and a tattoo artist to online shops selling over £250k a month. Websites by Will is the part that's all mine: the same care and the same standard, for businesses that would rather deal with one person than an agency.

In my spare time I'm studying for a degree in Computing & IT, which I'll finish in 2028. It means I'm always learning something new, and it usually ends up making one of my clients' websites better.

What I care about is simple. A website should load quickly, be easy to use and bring in work. You should know the price before you commit. And you should always know who you're talking to. That's me, from the first call to launch day and beyond.

    years building websites for clients

  • £250k

How I got here.

The road so far, from the first website I took apart to the businesses I build for today.

  1. The start

    Pulling websites apart

Like a lot of developers, I got started by taking websites apart to see how they worked, then building my own. I've been hooked ever since.

  2. 3+ years ago

    Websites for local businesses

Sites built so owners could update their own pages without ringing me for every little change. Plus the dull but vital jobs, like keeping web addresses, security and email working, which I still look after every day.

  3. Online shops

    Shops that actually sell

Online shops for businesses selling anything from £10k to £250k a month, each one designed around what they sell and how their customers buy. One rebuild helped Nanhoron Farms double its profit on previous years.

  4. Now

    Websites by Will

My own studio for small businesses that want a clear price, a fast website and one person to talk to. My latest project is a portfolio site for an award-winning tattoo artist.

    Your business?

This is where you come in. Tell me what you'd like your website to do, and we'll take it from there.

Things you won't get from me.

I've heard plenty of stories about bad experiences with web designers. Here's what I do instead.

  • No Jargon

Plain English. If I can't explain something simply, I'll keep trying until I can.

  • No Surprise invoices

The full price upfront, before you commit to anything.

  • No A handover

You talk to me from the first call to launch day. No account managers, no call centre.

  • No Stuff you don't need

Enquiries first. Extras later, and only if they'll pay for themselves.

  • No A slow website

Built for phones first, so it loads quickly where most of your customers are.

  • No Radio silence

Regular updates, and a reply to your messages within one working day.

Enough about me. Let's build yours.
